How Euphora finds the perfect gift
Most gift-finding tools give you a search bar or a set of filters. You already know that doesn't work — if you could search for the right gift, you wouldn't be stuck. Euphora takes a different approach.
01You describe the situation
Write anything. There's no form to fill out, no dropdowns to select from. Just describe the person, the occasion, and your budget in your own words.
“My dad is turning 65 next month. He's retired, spends most of his time in the garden, and has started getting into birdwatching. I'd like something thoughtful but useful — around €40.”
The more specific you are, the more precise the recommendations. But even “gift for mum, €50” gives us enough to work with.
02Our AI understands the gift scenario
Your description is parsed by an AI model that identifies the key dimensions of the gift-buying decision: who the recipient is, the relationship, the occasion, their interests, the budget range, and any constraints (like “nothing too personal” or “she already has a lot of books”).
This isn't keyword extraction. The system understands context: “he's retired and started birdwatching” signals a new hobby, which changes the recommendation strategy — introductory gear rather than expert-level equipment.
03Matching against a curated catalog
Your parsed intent is matched against our product catalog using semantic similarity (meaning-based matching, not keyword matching) combined with structured filters (budget, category, relationship suitability).
Every product in our catalog has been classified by our AI: gift suitability score, emotional tone (practical, meaningful, or playful), relationship fit (which relationships it's ideal, good, or awkward for), and occasion fit. This enrichment is what makes matching precise.
04You receive reasoned recommendations
3–5 products, each with:
- A match tag — a short phrase explaining the connection (“Perfect for new birdwatchers”)
- Personalized reasoning — 1–2 sentences explaining WHY this specific product fits YOUR specific scenario
- Price and retailer — with a direct link to purchase
The reasoning is the differentiator. Generic gift sites tell you what to buy. Euphora tells you why.
05Refine if needed
Not quite right? Mark the products that miss the mark and tell us why — “too generic,” “already has one,” “looking for something more experiential.” The system adjusts, filters out the rejected options, and generates a new round of recommendations informed by your feedback.

06Purchase directly from the retailer
When you find the right gift, click through to buy it directly from the retailer's website. We never handle payment or shipping — you're buying from established European retailers with their standard delivery and returns policies.
